The lion, the witch, and the illiterates
Tonight we saw The Chronicles of Narnia. I was amazed at the number of people there that either thought A: it was for small children, although some would like it, or B: it was a bloody battle film. For the love of Mickey Mouse it was put out by Walt Disney. Learn to read you doodie heads, so I don't have to hear you complain about a movie based on a book that the rest of the civilized world has read or at least googled. I liked it, from the get go I suspended my factually based brain and went along for the wholesome ride. It was a pretty film even if it did drag a bit in spots. As for the imagery, believe what you like, I for one find witches and frozen woods and magic of any sort quiet intriguing and a happy escape even if it is just in 2 hour increments.

You know the really humorous part about C.S. Lewis???? He was an athiest/agnostic...he is quoted as saying that he wrote "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" just because he wanted to write a children's book..yet Christians everywhere assume the books have "Christian" meaning....go figure...yet Tolkein, a Roman Catholic, wrote books that would seem to be contrary to "Christian" beliefs if you read them closely.......hehe....and the two of them were pals.....
I fell in love with Narnia when I was a kid......I am still looking for my wardrobe to disappear in....I always checked my closet as a kid hoping that there was a hidden world inside it......sigh.....I miss that. 'Course, my bedroom closet now is huge....I might have missed a spot in there....I'm off to check it now. If you don't hear from me any time soon, I'm in a far-away land. :)
